Our 1787 Ellennor Whitehouse Sampler featured in Fall SANQ
We were so excted to open our Fall 2013 Sampler & Antique Needlework Quarterly to find the reproduction of Ellennor Whitehouse's 1787 sampler featured beginning on page 5. The vibrant but simple sampler features several sets of alphabets, the Lord's Prayer, a verse about time and a row of vibrant motifs. Although we know nothing about Ellennor, we can imagine she was a patient girl, stitching her sampler on uneven linen with close to 50 threads to the inch. Drop an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org if you're interested in a conversion to Gloriana's Tudor Silk so you can stitch the sampler on 50-count linen.
