Have you seen Martha Hyde 1835?

A reproduction of Martha Hyde’s delightfully symmetrical sampler appears in the Winter 2012 issue of Sampler & Antique Needlework Quarterly. Other than the sampler itself, we know nothing about Martha. We do, however, appreciate not only her playful squirrels, but also the verse she selected to place inside the central cartouche. If you don’t already subscribe, be sure to pick up a copy of SANQ at your favorite needlework shop. Working with editor Christy Schmitz is a true joy. Christy is excited to begin the New Year with a new publisher for both SANQ and Just Cross Stitch. Annie’s of Berne, Indiana, recently added these two titles to its list of crochet, knitting, quilting and card-making publications.
