With a name like that...

Ok, ok, ok! So I'm a sucker for sad little (and big) samplers with quirky characteristics. This one has many flaws (bug holes, rotted threads and lots of age spots), but great charm nonetheless. The verse is sad but sincere. The overall layout is quite pleasing and a tad bit unique. The flowers and angels and birds hold their own. And look at the backsides on those deer! Best of all, though, is the maker's name: Fanny Hooper. If that weren't cute enough, Hooper also happens to be our grandson's name (and our daughter-in-law Ashley's maiden name). So, Fanny Hooper has a new home, flaws and all!
